Sexy talk – Interview trend for female artists ?

These days every model, actress is talking about sex and blue films. It seems, the interviewer think sex sells and they press on the female they interview to talk on sex related topics.

For example, in the latest edition of Sukrabar, Priyanka Karki is asked six questions and every question has the word ‘sex’ in it (actually the last question doesn’t have the word ‘sex’ but, it still has word ‘position’). Priyanka has answered all the question with ease and enthusiasm.

Then I looked in the other interviews published in the Movies Nepal – almost every interviews in the first page had ‘sex’ in the title (see the screenshot below).

There is an interview with model Etna Karki, who watches blue films to be fresh.

Then, there is an interview with model Baby Thapa. The bold model is known to like sex, smoking  and drinking and she was also asked a few questions about sex and she had expressed her preference to sex.

Another interview with item dance, actress and model Sushma Karki was asked about sex and she answered sex is nothing special, it’s normal these days.

Then another interview with actress Suvekshya Thapa has the title that says, ‘sex is a natural gift’.

Among those interviews with female artists in the first page of the category page, the only actress/model who is not asked a ‘sex’ question is Namrata Shrestha. I guess, that might be because everybody knows her preferences and there is nothing else to know about.

Goodbye Sushila Rayamajhi

One of the most popular character actress in Nepali movies, Sushila Rayamajhi, has died of cancer on January 26, 2012 in Kathmandu.

Chapali Height poster released (another copied poster)

chapali_height_name_choriThe poster of the controversial movie Chapali Height of the controversial actress Binita Baral (or Beenita Baral after the superstitious actress changed her name) was released earlier this week.

As if the controversy was not enough, the name and the posters of the movie are exact copy from the popular Hollywood movie Basic Instinct.

Told to be made in Rs. 12 lakh (Rs. 1.2 million), the movie can be considered one of the cheapest movie made in the modern times. But, the publicity and controversy might lead the movie to a success. The movie is scheduled to be released on March 16.

Nepali movies to be dubbed into Bhojpuri

Four of the movies of actor and producer Rose Rana including movies Dosti, Khalnayak, Dadagiri, and Don are going to be dubbed into Bhojpuri in the near future.

If successful, that would open a new avenue for the Nepali movies in Bhojpuri movie industry and vice versa.

Although, all of these movies feature Biraj Bhatt who is gaining popularity in Bhojpuri movies and the Bhojpuri film producer and distributer, Dimpi Wasin wants to cash on his popularity, there is still chances of Nepali movies getting a Bhojpuri market.

Bhuwan KC’s marriage – will ‘Sathi Ma Timro’ patch it, again ?

One of the controversial actors in Nepali movie industry, Bhuwan KC is known as a playboy among the actress. That might be the reason both of his marriages didn’t last long.

Bhuwan is known to use rumors to promote movies and, there is a high chance that he will get together with his second wife for the third time. Sushmita KC with whom Bhuwan has already ‘divorced’ 2 times, had contributed in Bhuwan’s upcoming movie ‘Sathi Ma Timro’ in big ways. They are bound to be together for the promotion of the movie… and let’s hope the history repeats this time too. In the similar situation, after the release of Bhuwan’s previous movie "Ma Timi Bina Marihalchu", Bhuwan and Sushmita had been together after being separated for some time.

Shreeman Shreemati (2011)

The movie "Shreeman Shreemati" released in 2011 was directed by Rishi Lamichane. The movie portrays suicidal mentality in a Nepali women. In the movie a character named Laxmi (played by Sarita Lamichane) decides to kill herself for her greedy and money hungry husband.

One of my friends was very critical of Nepali movies and told that he never watches them. To assure Nepali movies are worth watching, I had to search for some of the best movies from the history of Nepali films. Here are my recommendation for your MUST WATCH list.

  • Kusume Rumal
  • Balidan
  • Basudev
  • Prem Pinda
  • Darpan Chaya 

Note: All of these movies are available to watch for FREE in xNepali (You can search them by the name of the movie).

Kusume Rumal (1985)

A triangular love story, Kusume Rumal, was directed by one of the best directors in Nepali movie, Tulsi Ghimire. The film features Bhuwan KC, Tripti Naadkar and Udit Narayan Jha in the leading roles. The movie was made before Udit Narayan made his success in playback singing in Bollywood. The story and the music of the film had made it one of the must watch movie in Nepali. The music of the movie was composition by Ranjit Gajmer. Note: The Kusume Rumal 2 released in 2010 was however a disaster.

Richa Ghimire – 3 month pregnant, expecting a baby in June, 2012

Now it is Richa Ghimire’s turn to be a Nepali film celebrity mother.

Currently carrying a three month old baby in her belly, Richa Ghimire is excited to be a mother and her film director husband, Shankar Ghimire is equally excited to welcome a new member in their family.

A while Richa had announced about her retirement. But, these days, she has started telling that if anybody is interested in a pregnant woman’s role, she is ready to act in movie.

In a report in an online movie magazine about Richa joining celebrity ‘mother’s club’, the desire to be a mother in Richa arose after three of her peers became mother within a year or so. The actress like Melina Manandhar, Sanchita Luitel and Arunima Lamsal had became mothers in 2010/11. It is also reported that Richa had expressed her desire to be mother with Sanchita when Richa went to meet Sanchita’s newborn son.

Shree Krishna Shrestha – Kollywood Planet

Actor Shree Krishna Shrestha is a popular actor and he had made a hit movie ‘Kaha Bhetiyale’ too. Now, he is planning to start a different business with the name “Kollywood Planet.”

Kathmandu film industry is sometimes referred as Kollywood. But, the more popular Kollywood is Tamil movie industry.

Shree Krishna’s Kollywood will feature everything required for a person. He says the center will feature physical fitness, hotel, coffee shop, and party palace. By this explanation, there won’t be much for the movie industry, Kollywood.

Binita Baral changes her name to Beenita

The actress made popular by scandals rather than her acting ability, Binita Baral has also changed her name on the advice of Jyotish (Astrologist/numerologist).

It is rumored that after a Jyotish told that Binita’s lucky number is 7, she has changed her name to Beenita from the original Binita. The Jyotish also has warned her that she will have to be prepared for some more scandals in coming years.

Binita was initially kicked out of "Ke Ma Timoro Sathi Banna Sakchhu", then she got a controversial role in "Chapali Height". She wasn’t happy by the release of a topless photo of hers as magazine covers. Although she had admitted posing for such pose, she got angry with producers and directors of the movie about such a dramatic release of the photo.

Let’s hope the Jyotish will help her overcome the troubles she keeps on dragging herself into.

It’s not a much surprise in people in Nepali industry to change their names on the suggestions of Jyotish. Recently on of the veteran actors in Nepali movies, Bhuwan KC has also added an extra ‘n’ in his name to make it 7 characters long to make his upcoming movie ‘Sathi ma Timro’ a success.
